Meet New Friends

Many residents at Villa Gardens share a special bond. Take Stephen and Evelyn Abrahamson. When the Abrahamsons decided to sell their South Pasadena home and move to Villa Gardens, they never dreamed their social life would take such a huge leap. Avid USC football fans, the Abrahamsons quickly found like-minded people in their new community. “We are more busy socially now than in the 10 years before moving here,” says Stephen, a retired USC professor. “We’ve even found about 40 Trojan football fanatics we like to socialize with – you know tailgate parties!”

Residents Barbara Smith and Marjorie Nicholson have their own incredible story of friendship. Barbara and Marjorie have been friends for more than 70 years. In fact, they were born in the same Chicago hospital in the same year! Their friendship is a fast one, growing up three doors apart on the same street. In the 1960s their families both moved from Chicago to Altadena, where they found themselves next door neighbors. Today, Barbara and Marjorie continue to be the best of friends while enjoying life at Villa Gardens.
